Body Waxing Tips
- Exfoliate 2-3 times a week. The best way to remember if you waxed for the week is to wax every day that begins with the letter T, Tuesday and Thursday. And then pick one of the days on the weekend.
- Soaking at least once a week in a warm bath with epson salt AND THEN exfoliating, will help remove excess dead skin cells and help prevent ingrown hairs. This will also help to make the waxing process less painful as well.
- When exfoliating, make sure to rub the area gently for at least 30 seconds each. It doesn’t sound long but if you actually count slowly for 30 seconds while exfoliating the area, you would actually think it’s pretty long. But this is necessary for waxing areas. BUT DO NOT EXFOLIATE UNTIL 3 DAYS AFTER WAXING.
- Do not pick at ingrown hairs. Continue to exfoliate the area as usual and the esthetician will help you remove the ingrown if able to the day of your appointment.
- If you end up having little itchy bumps immediately after or the day after, this is the only time you can gently exfoliate your skin that night. this is a very gentle process so please be careful to not overdue it. Being too rough with that area can cause more irritation if you’re not very gentle with it.
